Kristina Karlsson – Celebrating 10 Years of kikki.K

All women, even those with the most miniscule interest in stationary, have heard of kikki.K. Most of us lust over it.  And it just so happens that this week Kristina Karlsson and her team are celebrating 10 years of kikki.K.

Kristina kindly offered insight into her passion for business and relentless pursuit of excellence.

1. Why did you start your business?

I started kikki.K when I set about setting up my own home office. I had recently moved to Australia, and was use to gorgeous home/office products at home in Sweden. I quickly discovered that they weren’t available here. I really wanted my office to be an extension of my personality, just as the rest of my home was. So I designed my first range. And it started from there!

2. How does having your business improve your life?

Although starting my own business hasn’t necessarily improved me life, I can say that it has enabled me to do what I love every day… to drive to work on a Monday morning and be excited about the day ahead. It is really rewarding to be able to work for myself in a job that I am truly passionate about.

3. How do you work smarter, not harder?

At kikki.K we always try to work smarter by taking a step back and using a common sense approach, systemizing and constantly reassessing whether a task could be completed more effectively and efficiently. We make a conscious effort to regularly asking ourselves, “Could this task be performed more efficiently or less frequently to save us resources and time, without sacrificing world class customer service?”
